Less Than 200 Days!

Wedding planning is… going.  We’re almost to the six month countdown, which is actually stressing me out a bit.  For some reason I just feel like time is slipping away and I’m not doing enough fast enough to get everything done in time.  And the fact that part of my planning has recently gone in reverse hasn’t helped.

Okay, so what we have done is:  the venue, the photographer, my dress, the DJ, my wedding band, the save-the-dates, and the preliminary guest list.

What is stressing me out because I feel like we’re to the point where we should be taking care of these things and we’re not is:   finalizing the guest list, sending out save-the-dates, setting up our registries, booking an officiant, and booking a hair/make-up person.

What has recently gone in reverse?  Remember those pretty bridesmaid dresses I picked?  Well lucky me, David’s Bridal discontinued one of them right out from under me!  So now I have to find another dress, which of course I don’t like any of the other current options, so I’m going to roll the dice and wait until May when DB will release new styles.  Cross your fingers for me!!!

And other general things that are always in the back of my head?  Veil, shoes, dress-fittings, bouquets, invitations, programs, escort cards, table numbers, lingerie, wedding gifts (for each other, for our parents, and for our bridal parties), and I’m sure there are other things I’m forgetting, because let’s be honest, it’s just too much to stay on top of.

Oh and of course there are the things I assigned M. (which I’m trying desperately not to nag him about, but of course am still worrying about in the back of my head), which includes the honeymoon, rehearsal dinner, his uniform, the tuxedos for the guys and the slideshow for the reception.  Oy.  A lot of responsibility on his plate, which I know he will take care of, he just takes care of things in a different way than I would, so I really have to keep myself in check and remind myself I love him and trust him and know he won’t let me down.  We also agreed upon a date at which point if he has not completed certain things, I am allowed to start asking questions and being slightly naggy, lol.  Yes, I scheduled in when I could start nagging him.  Haha, sounds so ridiculous to type it out, but it totally comforts me knowing that date exists.

There are also items that are part of the venue package (cake, centerpieces, food) that I have not started to deal with yet, but I feel less stressed about them because I know they are through the venue.  Oh, and speaking of the venue, they are having their own bridal show this weekend, and my awesome fiancé agreed to go with me!  Yay!  I’m not sure he knows exactly what he’s in for, but fortunately this is the only one he’s going to have to go to, so it shouldn’t matter that after the fact he’ll probably never want to go back to a bridal show again.

And if you’re looking for even more good stuff, here’s our wedding website, which is slowly evolving with more details.

Whew!

You will be fine. Things tend to fall in place. I got my shoes at PayLess! My veil is from Lauren, so if you are interested you can use it. Our flowers were through a woman in Mt. Airy that Andrew went to school w/ and were pretty well priced, if you are interested…

Wedding gift- buy him a sword.

  1. HAHAHAHAHA! Believe me. Liz knows what guys want for their wedding presents. As we all know by now, I don’t. Listen to her sage advice!

PS: Just noticed your blurb about yourself is so totally out-dated. Please update!
